Women's Soccer Takes Down Arcadia 3-0

The Ducks have won four straight.

HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 21, 2023) - Graduate Rachel Rouse recorded her first career hat trick while five other Ducks scored as the Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team blew out King's 8-0 Tuesday night.

The Ducks (6-6-2, 4-1-0 MAC Freedom) have now won four straight games. Stevens remains unbeaten against Arcadia all-time (4-0). The Ducks will clinch a spot in the MAC Freedom playoffs on Tuesday night with either a win or a King's loss. Arcadia (8-9, 3-2 MAC Freedom) see their two-game winning streak come to an end. The Knights sit third in the MAC Freedom with two games remaining.

Stevens dominated possession from the beginning. The Ducks had nine shots in the first 13 minutes, putting a lot of pressure on the Knights. The Knights finally succumbed to the pressure as they gave away a penalty in the 19th minute, which senior Elsa Bley converted to put Stevens in front. Three minutes later, Stevens doubled their advantage, as senior Amelia Rehrig scored on an assist from graduate Rachel Rouse. The Ducks scored again a minute later as first-year Luciana Rodrigues found the back of the net on an assist from Bley. Stevens led 3-0 at the half.

The Ducks continued to outplay Arcadia in the second half. The team had multiple attempts on goal but were unable to strike again. The Knights never tested a Duck keeper in the game, as Stevens was able to see out another MAC Freedom victory.
