SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (April 16, 2023) – No. 39 Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis dropped just one game in a 9-0 sweep against MAC Freedom foe Lycoming on Saturday. The match was moved indoors due to inclement weather.

Sophomores Vivek Harinarayn, Matt Luzzi, Olaf Persson, Sebastian Wroe along joined first-years Timothy Lau and Max-William Kanz in winning a pair of singles matches for the Ducks, who improved to 11-6 on the year and to 6-0 in the MAC Freedom. The victories extended the Ducks' conference winning streak to 21. 

Misericordia dropped to 5-6 on the year and to 3-1 in league play. The loss ends a two match winning streak.

The Ducks began the day by winning all three doubles flights in convincing fashion against Lycoming. Junior Aashi Kulakarni teamed with Persson to score an 8-0 win over Nathan Redell and Luke Leach at first doubles. Harinarayan and Kanz extended the lead with another 8-0 triumph over Jason Anderson and Connor Albaugh on line two. Lau and Luzzi wrapped up the doubles sweep with an 8-0 shutout of Matthew Baldridge and Mohamed Ebeid on line three.

The Ducks continued their strong play in singles, winning all six flights in straight sets. Five of the wins came in shutout fashion. Harinarayn defeated Redell on line one winning 6-0, 6-1. The rest were shutouts as Kanz took down Leach on the second line, Lau defeated Anderson on line three, Wroe was victorious over Albaugh on line four, Luzzi took down Domanick Young on the fifth line, and Persson finished off Josh Neidert on line six.
