GALLOWAY, N.J. (April 22, 2023) – Graduate Agatha Malinowski and first-year Stephanie Untermeyer won both of their matches, but the Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team fell to Stockton 5-4 Saturday in a non-conference matchup.
The Ducks are now 3-6 all-time against Stockton. They dropped to 8-8 on the season. Stockton improved to 12-4 on the season. This was the second meeting of the season between the teams. Both matches resulted in 5-4 victories for Stockton.
Malinowski and Untermeyer combined to win a doubles match 8-4 over Sarb Devi and Lily Muir. Untermeyer won her singles match on flight one 6-2, 6-3 over Muir. Malinowski won her singles match on flight two 6-2, 6-2 over Devi.
Junior Polina Odintseva and sophomore Isabella Dona also won a doubles match for the Ducks. They defeated Brynn Bowman and Carlee Cristella by a score of 8-6.
Things were tied up at 4-4 after the previous victories for the Ducks, but an injury gave Stockton the advantage and the win on the day.
Up Next: Women's Tennis concludes regular season play on April 23, as they host Drew University. The Ducks are 14-0 all-time against Drew. The match is slated for 12 p.m.
