HOBOKEN, N.J. (April 8, 2023) – No. 39 Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis swept the three doubles flights en route to a 7-2 victory over The College of New Jersey Saturday in non-conference action on the Stevens Tennis Courts.

Andrew He each won twice for the Ducks, who won their fifth straight to move to 8-6 on the year. Stevens has won each of the last three meetings with its in-state rival and six of the last seven.
Regionally-ranked Matthew Michibata and Derek Jordan each had singles flight victories for TCNJ, who dropped to 9-3. After winning four straight matches, the Lions have now lost two of two of their last three.
"I am so proud of how well our guys competed against a very tough TCNJ team," head coach
Steve Gachko said. "At this point in the season, a dominant 7-2 win over a top team is what we needed. Our guys are all motivated to build upon today's success and make some key improvements in the final stretch of the regular season."

Aashi Kulakarni got the Ducks off to a good start with a tidy 8-3 victory at first doubles over Harrison Maitland-Carter and Michibata. Harinarayan and Kanz made it 2 for 2 with an 8-6 win at second doubles over Nick Matkiwsky and Akul Telluri. He teamed with sophomore
Troy Zhang to cap off the sweep with a hard-fought 8-7 win over Jacob Quijano and Alberto Thomas in a tiebreaker. The three triumphs marked the Ducks' first doubles sweep of TCNJ since 2016.
As play turned to singles, the Ducks won four of the six flights with three coming in straight sets. Harinarayan, ranked 22nd in the region, posted an impressive 6-0, 6-1 decision on line two over Adrian Tsiu, while He topped Maitland-Carter 6-1, 6-2 on line three. Kanz continued the strong play with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Thomas on line four. First-year
Timothy Lau had the Ducks' final win of the day on line six with a come-from-behind 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 victory over Brett Schuster on line six for his second straight singles win.
TCNJ claimed singles wins on lines one and five to provide the final margin of victory.
Up Next: No. 39 Men's Tennis resumes conference play on April 11 with a road tilt at FDU-Florham. The Ducks have won the last seven matchups in the all-time series. The Tuesday afternoon matinee will be just the second meeting in Madison since 2005.
