MONTCLAIR, N.J. (September 24, 2023) - The Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team fell to No. 11 Montclair State University 2-0 in a non-conference match on Sunday night.
The Ducks (0-5-2) failed to score for a second straight game. The Red Hawks (6-1-0) end a three game winning streak for Stevens in the series.
The game started off back and forth as each team traded shots. The Red Hawks tested sophomore Kenny Donley in the sixth minute and again in the 16th minute, which she answered and saved both attempts. Graduate Rachel Rouse, senior Elsa Bley, and junior Abby Harris each had attempts in the first 20 minutes but did not hit the target. The score would remain 0-0 at halftime.
Montclair State changed the game in just a matter of minutes as they scored in the 60th and 63rd minutes to open up a 2-0 lead over the Ducks. Harris had a shot on target in the 66th minute to try to get the Ducks back into the game but her shot was stopped. The Red Hawks would hold on for the 2-0 victory and their sixth of the season.
