Women's Soccer Earns First Victory of the Season With 3-0 Defeat of Farmingdale State

Amelia Rehrig scored a brace.

HOBOKEN, N.J. (September 26, 2023) - Senior Amelia Rehrig scored twice and senior Nina Burden added another as the Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team defeated Farmingdale State 3-0 in a non-conference match Tuesday night at the DeBaun Athletic Complex.

The Ducks (1-5-2) won their first game of the season. The team scored more goals tonight than they had for the whole season. Farmingdale State fell to 2-4-2 with the loss. The Ducks have now won three straight in the series against the Rams.

Stevens got things going right off the bat as Rehrig was able to strike in the fifth minute. She would double her tally off of a rebound from graduate Rachel Rouse's shot that hit the post in the 22nd minute that put the Ducks up 2-0. Stevens would maintain that advantage into the break.

The Rams couldn't change the tides in the second half as Stevens kept up the pressure. Senior Nina Burden scored a banger from the right side of the 18 yard box that curled into the bottom left corner that put Stevens up 3-0 in the 58th minute. The Rams could not get back into the game from that point as Stevens walked away with its first win of the season.
