Hoboken, N.J. – Stevens Institute of Technology head men's basketball coach Bobby Hurley unveiled the 2024-25 schedule Friday for the reigning Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom champions.
The calendar features 25 games, including three against 2024 NCAA D-III Tournament teams and 13 at Canavan Arena, where Hurley has won more than 73 percent of the time since being named head coach prior to the 2008-2009 season.
For the first time since the 2018-19 season, the team opens the season at home on November 9 against Catholic University, the sixth meeting between the schools since 2017-18. St. Joseph's – Long Island will welcome the team to Patchogue November 13 before the Ducks host Scranton on November 16.
Following Scranton, Stevens will embark on a four-game road trip beginning with a Hudson County showdown with New Jersey City November 20; Middlebury (Nov. 23), Baruch (Nov. 26) and Rutgers-Newark (Dec. 1) round out the quartet; Baruch was the 2024 CUNYAC rep in the D-III Tournament.
To close the door on 2024 and open 2025, the Ducks return to Canavan for four straight home games. 2024 D-III Tournament team Widener (Dec. 7), Brooklyn College (Dec. 11), Hamilton (Jan. 3), and York (Pa.)/Oswego (Jan. 4), all make the trip to Castle Point to close out the non-conference portion of the schedule.
In MAC Freedom play, the Ducks host Misericordia (Jan. 11), King's (Jan. 18), DeSales (Jan. 22), Lebanon Valley (Feb. 1), Arcadia (Feb. 5), Delaware Valley (Feb. 18), and FDU-Florham (Feb. 22), the regular season finale. Corresponding road trips will be to Lebanon Valley on Jan. 8 (conference opener), Arcadia on Jan. 15, FDU-Florham on Jan. 25, Delaware Valley on Jan. 29, Misericordia on Feb. 8, DeSales on Feb. 12, and King's on Feb. 15.
Postseason play kicks off Feb. 26 with the MAC Freedom semis with a league champion set to be crowned March 1. Since joining the conference in 2019-20, the Ducks have made the conference championship game all four years the game has been contested, winning it last season, as well as 2022, and 2020.
