Hartford, Conn. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's basketball team dropped a 93-56 non-conference road contest to Trinity College Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trinity (6-2) scored the first eight before
Kay Decker got the Ducks on the board with a layup three minutes in. With the Bantams up 12-2, a
Leyla Castro three and
Lucy Alberici layup cut the deficit in half, but Trinity pushed the lead out to 24-9 at the end of the quarter,
Zoe Kashner adding two for the Ducks on a jumper during that stretch.
Alberici opened the scoring in the second quarter with a three, but the Bantams reeled off the proceeding eight before
Dorothy Loffredo added her first points of the day with a jumper just shy of three minutes into the period.
Olivia Schubiger, Alberici, Isaballa Duval (three-pointer), and Castro all had buckets for Stevens (3-4) during the quarter, but the Trinity lead grew to 53-26 at the half.
After shooting just 29.4 percent in the first half, the Ducks shot 42.9 percent (12-28) in the second, but drew no closer than 30 over the final 19 minutes, as the Bantams finished with at least 19 points in all four quarters.
