HOBOKEN, N.J. (March 23, 2024) – Senior Carver Weirick had 10 kills, one block, and an ace as the No. 3 Stevens Institute of Technology men's volleyball beat Eastern 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-19) Saturday afternoon.

Junior Sebastian Huyke picked up 14 assists, five digs, and two blocks. First-year Nick Schmidt 13 assists and three digs.

Stevens hit .348 for the match, including .526 in the third set. The Eagles hit .034 in the match, and had a negative hitting percentage in the second set.

Stevens (26-1, 6-0 MAC) sees their winning streak rise to 23-straight games with the victory. They haven't lost a conference match since 2021. Stevens has only lost one set in conference play this season. With the win, the Ducks have clinched a spot in the MAC Semifinals. The Ducks are now 6-0 all-time against Eastern, and they improve to 11-0 in home games this season. Eastern falls to 10-12 (2-2 MAC) with the loss.

The Rundown

• After the Ducks put up the first two points, Eastern scored six of the next seven as they took a 6-3 lead. From there, Stevens ripped off four straight, as junior Brandon Rogers had an ace while first-year Joshua Levandoske had an ace. Tied at eight, Stevens scored 10 of the next 12 to open up the match. This gave them an 18-10 lead. The Ducks would close out the set and win 25-15.
• The second set was not close either as Stevens went up 2-0. Tied at four, Stevens scored the next three, as Weirick picked up a kill while Rogers had an ace. With the score 10-8 Stevens, they would pick up the next five points to go up seven. Rogers and Levandoske each picked up a kill, while Huyke had an assist. First-year Ryan Schmid closed the set with a kill as Stevens won 25-14.
• It would be another quick match, as the Ducks went on to sweep the Eagles. Eastern went down fighting, as they came out with 3-0 and 8-4 leads. Stevens would come back to tie it at eight, first-year Alex Olcott tallied two kills. With the score 11-10 Eastern, Weirick tallied a kill and junior Tyler Christensen followed with an ace to put the Ducks in front. Down the stretch, Stevens held off the Eagles as they won yet another game.
