Men's Cross Country Tops The Field At Messiah Invitational

Mechanicsburg, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's cross country team won the 2024 Messiah Invitational on Saturday.

The Ducks tallied 60 team points in the 6K event to edge host Messiah, who tallied 62. It was the Ducks' first meet victory since capturing the Empire 8 Conference Championship on October 28, 2017. The 8K course will serve as the host course for the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship Meet in early November.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Liam Concannon was the overall winner, taking first place by over 15 seconds. The graduate student crossed the finish line in 27:04.5, besting the closest finisher by 15.2 ticks. Classmate Jake Aylmer was the second finisher for Stevens, placing third in 27:30.7. Junior Caleb Stephen turned in a 13th-place time, clinching a mark of 28:20.2.

Senior Frank Orlando notched a top-20 time, finishing 20th with a time of 28:41.7. Senior Bryan Onody was 32nd in 29:02.6, with Ryan Paradine (29:07.4) and Jake Porco (29:10.5) finishing back-to-back. Junior Daniel Jutras was 38th in 29:18.9, and Cillian Griffin was 44th in 29:44.6. Kevin Medrow (29:48.2), Matthew Hodorowski (30:19.4), James Adamo (31:07.8), and Enrico Parrella (31:29.6) also competed for the Ducks.

UP NEXT
The Ducks will compete in a pair of meets next weekend. They will be at Cairn University's Highlander Invitational and Lehigh University's Paul Short Run, with both being held on October 5.
