DALLAS, Pa. / WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team claimed a pair of Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom sweeps over Misericordia and King's Saturday afternoon.
With just six players playing both singles and doubles in both matches, the Ducks made quick work of both the Cougars and Monarchs.
INSIDE THE MATCH (Misericordia)
Alix Dry and
Kaylee Hobbick won 6-2 at No. 1 doubles,
Lorena Piegas &
Wei-Wei Lai won 6-1 at No. 2, and
Aliona Heitz/
Julia Chiovitti won 6-4 at No. 3.
In singles action, Dry and Chiovitti won 8-0 at No. 1 and No. 5, Piegas and Lai won 8-1 at No. 3 and No. 4, & Hobbick and Heitz won 8-2 at No. 2 and No. 6.
INSIDE THE MATCH (King's)
The No. 2 & No. 3 doubles teams of Piegas/Lai and Heitz/Chiovitti each won 6-0 while Dry and Hobbick won 6-1 at No. 1.
Dry, Hobbick, Piegas, Chiovitti, and Heitz all won 8-0 at No. 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6 singles, respectively. Lai won 8-1 at No. 4.
