Wayne, N.J. – Aleah Dinmore recorded her first career hat trick and added an assist as the No. 9 Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team toppled William Paterson University 7-2 in non-conference action Friday evening at Wightman Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Lauren Flynn inserted to the top of the circle, where
Molly DiCampli fed

Sophia Cozza was waiting to tuck home her seventh goal of the season and give the Ducks the early edge.
The Pioneers responded less than two minutes later on a corner of their own, as Julia Dennehy redirected a pass in tight to even the contest at one. The tie was short-lived — just 35 seconds later, a William Paterson clearance attempt deflected into the cage for an own goal, restoring Stevens' lead. The Ducks capped an explosive opening frame in the 13th minute when Dinmore deflcted home a
Jess Kopernick blast off a corner, sending the visitors into the quarter break with a 3-1 advantage.
William Paterson pulled back within one in the 22nd minute when Ali Stoner finished off a corner sequence. Once again, Stevens responded quickly. Brooks scored from the right wing off a Flynn insert and fired a shot in the 26th minute to make it 4-2. In the final seconds of the half, Brooks set up Moroney in front, and the senior forward converted a quick strike to extend the lead to 5-2 as time expired.
The Ducks' pressure continued after halftime. Dinmore struck again in the 33rd minute, finishing a corner opportunity assisted by Brooks and
Kylee Scherer. Stevens peppered the cage throughout the period, forcing three saves from Pioneer goalkeeper Grace Jenkins, before heading into the final frame with a four-goal cushion.
