Women's Soccer Blanks Penn State-Harrisburg, 2-0

Harrisburg, Pa. – Alana Odom scored for the second straight day and Kenny Donley posted a clean sheet for the second time in as many days during a 2-0 win for the Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team over Penn State-Harrisburg Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Alina Friz and Sophia Murphy both had shots kept out by Nittany Lions keeper Alexis Valenta. Stevens (4-2-6) keeper Kenny Donley was first called into action with a 14th minute save, adding another in the 18th minute, remaining in the match after a post-save collision.

In the 30th minute, the Murphy-Alana Odom duo teamed up for the first goal of the day. The pair's combined pressure forced a turnover just outside the 18-yard box. Murphy took possession and played a through ball to Odom, who knocked in her third goal of the year. Just three minutes later, both Odom and Lauren Alley had chances to double the lead, but each hit the right post mere seconds apart, with the 1-0 lead holding into the halftime break.

Murphy had two looks in the 50th and 52nd minute, respectively, but missed wide on both, and Odom had a 55th minute shot blocked. Sarah Wnorowski had a 74th minute volley off a corner kick sail wide, but used the Ducks' next corner kick to put the game on ice less than 10 minutes later when she sent a curving ball toward the far post, where it deflected off a Nittany Lions defender and over the goal line for a 2-0 Stevens lead.

The Duck defense, as it has much of the season, stifled PSU-Harrisburg, conceding only two shots in the second half, both of which resulted in easy saves for Donley.
