Ewing, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's swim team finished second overall at the TCNJ Invitational that concluded on Sunday.
The Ducks tallied 988 points, falling just behind TCNJ, who won with 1057.5 points. Cortland was third with 817 points, as Merchant Marine was fourth with 490.5.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Stevens opened the evening with three scorers inside the top nine of the 1650 free.
Dora Dvorkin delivered the Ducks' top finish, placing third overall in 18:26.49.
Abigail Rosingana followed in fifth with an 18:37.73, while
Julia McKinley added ninth, touching in 19:11.73. In the 200 backstroke A final, senior
Sydney Lanager scored for the Ducks with an eighth-place finish, stopping the clock in 2:20.41.
Stevens earned one of its biggest point totals of the night in the 100 free, led by a dominant A-final performance from
Delaney Klaus, who won the event in 53.38. The Ducks added two more finals swimmers, with
Paige Bleckley placing ninth overall from the B final in 59.08, followed by
Megan Koek in 10th at 57.93. The 200 breaststroke produced four A-finalists for the Ducks.
Eszter Kiss captured the victory in 2:25.59, with teammate
Emery Fitzharris finishing second in 2:29.68.
Ashley Settle placed sixth in 2:33.45, and
Adriana Bertolotti finished seventh at 2:35.38. In the B final, Allie Halverson added 15th overall with a 2:48.97.
Stevens continued its momentum in the 200 butterfly, where four Ducks reached the A final.
Natalia Brunetti captured the event win in 2:09.72, followed closely by
Hanna Matheson in second at 2:10.61.
Gabby Tyer placed fifth in 2:19.74, and first-year
Samantha Gallo touched sixth in 2:18.31. Stevens did not have a B-final swimmer. The Ducks closed the night with another relay victory, taking the 400 free relay in 3:36.96 behind the quartet of Kiss, Brunetti, Gallo, and Klaus. The B relay finished fourth in 3:45.70, which consisted of
