West Point, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's track & field team began its indoor slate on Friday, competing in the first day of the Crowell Invitational.
The two-day event, hosted by Army, featured no team scoring and included competition from Army, Medgar Evers, Vassar, Mount St. Mary's, and others.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Through four events of the heptathlon,
Brandon Kiefer sits in third place with 2,533 points. Kiefer was third in both the 60-meter (7.25) and long jump (6.28m), fifth in the shot put (10.98m), and seventh in the high jump (1.7m).
Calvin Gibson was ninth with 2,277 points, as
Jimmy Johnson was 12
th with 2,120 points. Gibson was second in the high jump (1.76m) to highlight his day, with Johnson notching a sixth place mark in the shot put (10.93m).
Stevens also had two competitors in the 5,000-meter. First-year
Ryan Shibles led the way with a 12
th place time of 16:23.31, as classmate
Ryan Kropac was 18
th in 17:59.03.
