Glassboro, N.J. – Stefanie Sellitto netted her 100th career goal, but the No. 17 Stevens Institute of Technology women'slacrosse team fell to Rowan University, 13-6, in non-conference play on Saturday.

Sellitto and Maddie Hogan (2-1) each scored twice for Stevens, while Calista Burke led Rowan (3-0) with four goals.

How It Happened

Stevens opened the scoring just 31 seconds into the contest when Emily Leiby recorded an unassisted goal. Rowan tied the game with 10:12 left in the first quarter and then took the lead for good on a Molly Green goal with 8:31 remaining. After extending their lead to 3-1, Rowan was held in check briefly as Felicity Heilferty made two key saves to keep the margin at two. However, Stevens' Alison Lax had an attempt denied with 1:53 left in the period, and Rowan capitalized, closing out the quarter with two goals in the final 1:33 to take a 5-1 advantage into the second.

The Profs continued to build their lead in the second quarter, as Burke scored back-to-back goals early on. Sellitto reached the century mark with 10:02 left in the quarter, snapping Rowan's eight-goal run. Hogan made it 8-3, and after the teams traded goals, she added her second of the afternoon to bring Stevens within five at 9-4. Rowan responded with another tally before halftime, taking a 10-4 lead into the break.

Following a scoreless first five minutes of the third quarter, Alina Friz got Stevens on the board after Hogan's free-position attempt was stopped by Rowan's Mel Rodgers. Rowan closed the quarter with two of the final three goals and led 12-6 heading into the fourth. The Profs then added one more goal early in the final period, which proved to be the last score of the game. Rodgers kept the Ducks off the board in the fourth, making three key saves.
