HOBOKEN, N.J. – The No. 20 Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team got goals from 15 different players in a dominant 26-3 win over FDU-Florham on Senior Day Saturday from the DeBaun Athletic Complex.
Stefanie Sellitto had a game-high five goals,
Maddie Hogan added a season-high four,
Alison Lax and
Colleen Ginsberg each had two, and 10 different players all had one.
Lauren Sullivan (eight),
Quincy Connell (four), and Sellitto (seven) combined for 19 of the game's 30 draw controls.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Stevens (9-4, 4-0 MACF) outscored FDU-Florham 11-0 in the first quarter, igniting the running clock less than 13 minutes in. Sellitto scored the first two of the game within the first 2:15. Between one goal each from
Emily Leiby,
Anna Velardi, and Lax, Hogan completed her hat trick in less than six minutes, putting the Ducks up 8-0 at the 6:00 mark of the quarter.
Emily Smart and Lax made it 10-0, then Sellitto bookended the first two quarters with back-to-back goals, putting Stevens up 12-0 less than three minutes into the second quarter.
Hogan and Sellitto bookended a goal from
Rebecca Guerra, and less than 10 seconds before the halftime buzzer,
Abby O'Brien made it 16-0 Stevens.
After
Alina Friz and
Alison Murray added two more to open the third, the Devils finally got on the board, but
Kamryn Kramer closed the quarter with back-to-back goals, extending the margin to 20-1.
Margaret Palmer put the Ducks up 20 to open the fourth, Gins berg followed with back-to-back goals, and
Elise Hensley &
Marie Lindberger closed out the Ducks' offensive onslaught for the day before FDU-Florham added two goals late.
Prior to the game, the Ducks celebrated Senior Day, honoring Lindberger, Velardi, Lax, Smart, Guerra, Connell, and Leiby for their contributions to the team over the last 4+ seasons.
