Men's Tennis Knocks Off TCNJ, Arcadia

Ewing, N.J. / Glenside, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team picked up a pair of victories over The College of New Jersey and Arcadia University on Tuesday.

Stevens outlasted TCNJ 4-3 before taking down Arcadia 7-0.


HOW IT HAPPENED
Against TCNJ, the Ducks started strong in doubles play, securing the point with victories at the top two flights. Olof Persson and Max-William Kanz earned a 6–4 win at No. 1 doubles, while Samvid Andhare and Aidan Miller dominated at No. 2 with a convincing 6–0 sweep. Despite a valiant effort from Vivek Harinarayan and Matt Luzzi, Stevens narrowly dropped the No. 3 doubles match, 5–7.

Miller and Andhare each added straight-set victories at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, continuing their strong form from doubles. The first-year Miller won 6-2, 7-5 as Andhare was victorious 7-5, 6-3. Kanz sealed the victory with a gritty, three-set victory at the top spot. After falling in the first frame 7-5, Kanz rebounded with a 6-2, 7-5 triumph. The Lions recorded victories in the final three spots, with No. 5 and No. 6 going the distance. Dhaivik Chenemilla fell 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 at No. 5 as Mihir Parcha was topped 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (7-4) at No. 6.


In doubles against Arcadia, the Ducks made quick work of the Knights, dropping zero games across all three matches. The No. 1 duo of Persson and Chenemilla led the charge with a 6–0 win, followed closely by Andhare and Kanz at No. 2, and Harinarayan paired with Tristan Wroe at No. 3, each also winning 6–0.


The momentum carried seamlessly into singles play, where Stevens didn't lose a single set. Aidan Miller set the tone at the top spot with a commanding 6–1, 6–0 win, and Chenemilla continued his strong outing with a 6–2, 6–2 victory at No. 2. Persson cruised at No. 3 with a 6–1, 6–0 scoreline, and Parcha followed suit with a swift 6–1, 6–0 win at No. 4. Rounding out the sweep, Johnny Haase and Tristan Wroe dominated at No. 5 and No. 6, with Wroe blanking his opponent 6–0, 6–0.
