Men's Lacrosse Tops Delaware Valley, 25-1, For Seventh Straight Win

20 Different Ducks Score As Stevens Remains Perfect in MAC Freedom

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The No. 8 Stevens Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team continued its dominance over the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom with a 25-1 win over Delaware Valley on Wednesday night.

20 different Ducks scored at least one goal, 13 had multiple shots on goal, and 11 scooped at least two ground balls. Tommy Robertozzi was the lone player to finish with a hat trick, with Dustin Arsich, Connor Gabilanes, and Shea Grant all finishing with two goals each.

Three of the team's main face-off specialists – Bastian Chorazykiewicz, Will Giarrusso, and Jackson Penn – all scored, while Luigi Pantano, another face-off specialist, finished with a game-high six ground balls and a caused turnover on the only face-off he didn't win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Robertozzi scored five seconds in off an assist from Penn off the opening face-off. Grant, Matthew Pergola, and Robertozzi made it 4-0 Stevens (12-3, 6-0 MACF) before three minutes transpired, with Robertozzi putting a bow on his hat trick at the 11:22 mark of the opening quarter. After a Joseph Grippo goal, the Aggies turned a man-up opportunity into their lone goal of the night, but Jake Connelly and Jack Tenaglia put the Ducks up 8-1 by the end of the quarter.

Goals from Gabilanes, Grant, and Tyler Holland put the Ducks up 10 early in the second then, after Penn made it 12-1, Giarrusso won the ensuing faceoff, came right down the field, and put away Stevens' 13th goal of the night. Connor Moore and Joe Leone made it 15-1 just past the midway point of the period, then Gabilanes and Miles Du bois made it 17-1 with five minutes left in the half. That score held into the final minute before Arsich made it 18-1 heading to the locker room.

After more than six scoreless minutes to open the second half, Connor Sanford unleashed a riser then, off a Delaware Valley failed clear, long pole Noah Spencer came into the attacking zone and buried a bouncer from distance for goal number 20. The following two minutes featured four more goals, one each from Griffin Zimmerli, Kevin Duffy, Andrew Becton, and Chorazykiewicz, who, like Giarrusso, scored right off a win at the X. Arsich tacked on the final goal of the quarter and the night with just over a minute left.

Inside the Box Score
  • Stevens' .900 faceoff win percentage as a team (27-of-30) was the highest mark in a single game since winning 93.5 percent (29-of-31) against Wilkes on Apil 5, 2023.
  • The Ducks have won all 37 regular season MAC Freedom games since the start of the 2021 season.
  • Stevens limited Delaware Valley to just 10 ground balls, a season-low for a Ducks' opponent since Houghton also came away with just 10 on March 30, 2019.
  • Arsich, Moore, Giarrusso, Sanford, Zimmerli, Chorazykiewicz, Becton, and Spencer all scored for the first time this season.
  • Quinton Smith played a season-high 35:03 between the pipes, making four saves without conceding a goal
