Women's Soccer Falls 1-0 to NYU

HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team fell to NYU 1-0 on Wednesday evening under the lights at DeBaun Athletic Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Stevens was locked in defensively early on, not allowing a shot until the 39th minute, but the Violets finally broke through in the 45th off a corner kick when Elizabeth Argenziano headed home the team's corner kick of the half. The Ducks had their chances in the opening 45, testing NYU goalkeeper Mia Capo with four shots, two of which were on target.

The Ducks managed just a single shot in the second half despite drawing a pair of corners and constantly maintaining possession just outside the Violets' 18-yard box.

Kenny Donley, making her first appearance in goal after missing each of the previous two matches, finished with five saves for the Ducks

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Lauren Alley and Alina Friz each had two shots for Stevens; both of Alley's were on-target, while one of Friz's forced a save from NYU's Mia Capo
