READING, PA. – William Ladd took first in the high jump while multiple members of the Stevens Institute of Technology men's track team set personal and season-bests at the Alvernia Winter Invitational on Saturday.
INSIDE THE MEET
Ladd was one of four to clear 1.90 meters, but the only one to do so on their first attempt.
Michael Dao cleared 4.15 meters in the pole vault, setting a personal best and taking 6th in the event;
Chris Persico took 9
th in the event with a season-best clearance of 4.00 meters, and
Marcus Hochegger came in 11
th with a personal best clearance of 3.85 meters.
Mick Barbi clocked 15:52.19 in the 5,000 meters, taking 7
th and setting a personal best in the process.
Joseph Ruben took 12
th with a season-best 16:19.28 and
Ryan Kropac set a personal best with a time of 17:52.63, finishing 25
th.
Fellow high finishers included
Enrico Parrella, who took 7
th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:02.38,
Kane Perry, whose 13.63-meter mark in the shot put also put him in 7
th, and
Danny Jutras, who ran 9:09.89 in the 3,000 meters for yet another 7
th-place finish. The 7
th place finishes didn't end there, as the 4x400 meter relay team of
Christian Garofano,
Christopher Reyes,
Wesley Schlimer, and
Markus Soennichsen crossed the line in 3:41.10.
