READING, Pa. / LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's track and field team competed at both the Alvernia Plex Invitational and Bison Challenge on Saturday, posting one win, two Top-2 finishes, and eight Top-4 finishes between the two sites.
At the Plex Invitational,
Jonathan Mordi continued his torrid first collegiate season with a win in the high jump, clearing 2.00 meters, a new personal-best.
The top qualifier in the 60-meter hurdles with a personal-record 8.66 seconds,
William Ladd took third in the event, running 8.72;
Joseph Perriello was 5
th in 8.78, matching his season-best qualifying time.
Ryan Paradine and
Danny Jutras each ran under 2:00.00 in the 800 meters, with Paradine crossing in second and Jutras finishing fourth.
Michael Dao cleared a personal-record 4.20 meters in the pole vault, finishing fourth while Mordi also took fourth in the triple jump with a top distance of 12.66 meters.
In the 4x400 relay,
Steven Longo,
Ian Rodriguez,
Eduardo Neto, and
Luis Amezquita finished in 3:34.13, good for second.
In the men's heptathlon at the Bison Challenge,
Brandon Kiefer and
Calvin Gibson each moved up two spots from their post-Friday positions, with Kiefer taking fourth after tallying 4,119 points and Gibson's 3,718 points putting him in eighth. Kiefer took fifth in the 60-meter hurdles, second in the pole vault, and seventh in the 1,000 meters on Saturday; Gibson finished fourth in both the 60-meter hurdles & 1,000 meters, as well as 10
th in the pole vault.
