Men's Soccer Battles to Scoreless Draw With Lebanon Valley

Annville, Pa. – In another fiercely contested battle between the 2023 and 2025 MAC Freedom finalists, the Stevens Institute of Technology men's soccer team battled Lebanon Valley to a scoreless draw on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
The Ducks had several opportunities inside the opening half hour, including one of the strongest looks of the night for either side. Roughly 90 seconds after Omar Martinez had a shot blocked, in the 16th minute, Emerson Kekesi hit the right post from about 25 yards out after the ball had gotten past the outstretched arms of Lebanon Valley keeper Isaac Yerger. RJ Dougherty had a shot blocked roughly a minute later, and Kekesi added a shot in the 21st that rolled into the hands of Yerger.

In the 41st minute, Boyke made one of the most crucial saves of the season for the Ducks, denying Lebanon Valley's Gavin Rapp – by far the leading scorer in the conference – at point-blank range from inside 12 yards.

After a first half that yielded 13 shots and four corner kicks, things kicked up a notch in the second half, with the teams combining for 16 shots and seven corners – Joseph Conte, Luke Carey, Kekesi (twice), and Martinez all had shot attempts in the second half, but none found the mark for Stevens.

Inside The Box Score

  • Boyke posted his fourth clean sheet of the season, with the six saves marking a new season-high
  • Saturday marked the sixth match between the two teams (out of seven total) since the 2023 season that was decided by one goal or fewer
  • Konrad Rodzen and Tyler Reavis both earned their first starts of the season

Up Next
