Men's Basketball Falls 88-72 to Lebanon Valley Despite Chhabra's Triple Double, Four in Double Figures

Annville, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's basketball team got a triple-double from Harmehar Chhabra and at least 12 points from four different players, but strong shooting from Lebanon Valley was too much to overcome in an 88-72 win for the Dutchmen on Wednesday night in MAC Freedom action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Stevens (15-9, 9-4) led 9-2 early courtesy of two layups from Chhabra, one from Kyle Maddison, and an Anthony Loscalzo three. The Dutchmen worked their way in front 13-11 just past nine minutes gone in the half, holding a 1-to-4 point cushion until a Maddison layup and two free throws from Chhabra put the Ducks back in front 22-21 at the 5:34 mark. Lebanon Valley answered with eight of the next 12 for a 29-26 lead before a Matt Leming three and a Chhabra old-fashioned three-point play flipped things back in Stevens' favor, 32-29, with 2:29 left. Three additional lead changes transpired, with the Dutchmen eventually carrying a 39-36 lead into the locker room

The half ended nearly identically on the stat sheet, with the Ducks grabbing one fewer rebound, dishing out one fewer assist, while recording one more steal and committing one foul fewer; each side also made four free throws and recorded six turnovers.

The Ducks started the second half 4-of-8 from the floor, but went just two for their next 11, as Lebanon Valley turned a seven-point game into a 20-point game in just over four minutes. Stevens did pull to within 12 late, but drew no closer as the Dutchmen, after shooting 50 percent in the first half, shot 56 percent in the second.
