West Point, N.Y. – In their final event before MAC Indoor Championships next weekend, the Stevens Institute of Technology men's track and field team finished 1-2 in the 5,000 meters, adding Top-4 finishes in the 4x400 meter relay and the mile on Saturday at the West Point Tune Up.
Max Thorn won the 5K in 16:17.26, leading at the end of all 25 laps.
James Adamo ran 16:47.61, finishing in second after holding that spot at the end of all 25 laps.
The 4x400 quartet of
Eduardo Neto,
Colin Fisher,
Caleb Stephen, and
Nelson VanMaaren all posted splits under 55.40, finishing in second place, more than six seconds ahead of teams from Merchant Marine, Sage, and Bard.
In the mile,
Kevin Medrow spent the final 1,000 meters of the race in the Top 5, running 4:34.57 for fourth.
Joseph Ruben ran 9:26.61 in the 3,000 meters, finishing fourth, though he spent more than half the race in second, and was in the Top 6 at the end of all 15 laps.
