Reading, Pa. – Two-time heptathlon champion
Brandon Kiefer finished Day One of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Indoor Championships in first place through four events, leading an action-packed day for the Stevens Institute of Technology men's track and field team on Friday.
As a team, the Ducks sit in fifth place with 21.5 points, just a half-point back of fourth-place Eastern.
Kiefer took second in three of the four disciplines run on Friday (the long jump, the shot put, and 60 meters), sitting 21 points ahead of second and 42 points ahead of third.
The distance medley relay team of
Ryan Paradine,
Enrico Parrella,
Markus Soennichsen, and
Christopher Reyes finished in fourth.
Jonathan Mordi posted a pair of Top-6 finishes, taking fifth in the high jump and sixth in the long jump;
William Ladd tied for sixth in the high jump.
Additional sixth place finishes came courtesy of
Kane Perry in the weight throw, as well as the 4x200-meter relay team of
Connor Robinson,
Tyler Hackett,
Iyasu Richards, and
Chase Kosiba.
Kyle Miller completed the day's podium finishers for the Ducks, taking eighth in the pole vault.
