Staten Island, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's track and field team collected a pair of PRs and five Top-4 finishes in the Big Apple Invitational at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Saturday.
Danny Jutras was the high finisher on the track side, taking second in the mile with a PR of 4:19.24, shaving more than a second off his previous best time, sliding closer to a Top-3 time in program history;
Enrico Parrella took fifth in the event, running 4:28.99.
In the 400 meters,
Steven Longo ran 51.24, a new PR, good for 9
th in program history. The 800 meters featured two Ducks in the Top 10, as
Matthew Hodorowski ran 1:59.66 for sixth and
Christopher Reyes ran 2:00.59 for ninth.
The field side featured a myriad of strong performances, led by
William Ladd taking second in the high jump.
Elsewhere,
Konstantinos Georgiadis and
Justin Gajewski went 4-5 in the triple jump,
Kane Perry took fourth in the weight throw, and
Chris Persico took fourth in the pole vault; Persico led a 4-5-6 finish for the Ducks, with
Kyle Miller and
Marcus Hochegger finishing right behind him.

The Ducks will compete in two separate two-day events next Friday and Saturday: the Boston University-hosted David Hemery Valentine Invitational and the Widener Indoor Classic.
