Frey Named to AVCA Thirty Under 30 Award Winner

Hoboken, N.J. Macon Frey, head coach of the Stevens Institute of Technology women's volleyball team, was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Thirty Under 30 list on Wednesday.

In just three seasons as head coach, Frey has led the Ducks to a 72-27 record (.727 winning percentage) while winning the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Championship in each of those seasons. In her first two years, she guided Stevens to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament and is tied for the third-most victories in program history. During her tenure at Stevens, she has coached six AVCA Honorable Mention All-Americans, 16 MAC Freedom All-Conference honorees, one MAC Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year, and has twice been named the MAC Freedom Coach of the Year.
Prior to Stevens, Frey served as a graduate assistant coach at Springfield College and as an assistant coach at her alma mater, Bridgewater College. She credits Erin Harris (Bridgewater), Moira Long (Springfield), Cora Thompson (Tufts University), and Alesia Bennet (Brandeis University) as coaches who have had the biggest influence on her.

The Thirty Under 30 program recognizes up-and-coming coaches in different sectors of the sport who serve in a range of roles, from head coach to volunteer assistant to club director. Each of this year's recipients had to be age 30 or under as of Dec. 31, 2025, to qualify for the award.
