Bryn Mawr, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team swept Bryn Mawr College 7-0 in a non-conference matchup Wednesday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Stevens dominated doubles play, sweeping all three flights while surrendering just three total games.
Stephanie Untermeyer and
Gigi Arenas posted a 6-0 shutout at No. 2, while
Alix Dry and
Kaylee Hobbick earned a 6-1 win at No. 3.
Wei-Wei Lai and
Lorena Piegas capped the sweep with a 6-2 victory at No. 1.
Hobbick secured the first singles point with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 5. Lai followed with a 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 3, before Arenas clinched the match at No. 4, 6-4, 6-3.
The Ducks closed out the sweep with three comeback wins. Piegas rebounded for a 6-3, 10-2 victory at No. 2, while
Julia Chiovitti picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6. Dry battled through a tight match at No. 1, earning a 7-6 (7-3), 10-6 decision.
