New York, N.Y. – Jonathan Mordi broke his own school record in the triple jump,
Danny Jutras flirted with his school record in the 800 meters, and a 4x200-meter relay team posted one of the five fastest times in school history on Saturday for the Stevens Institute of Technology men's track and field team on the second and final day of the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships.
After jumping 14.02 meters on January 24, Mordi went .01 further on Saturday, finishing seventh in the event. Jutras, who ran 1:53.22 three weeks ago, clocked 1:53.48 on Saturday, finishing fourth in the race.
The 4x200-meter relay squad of
Tyler Hackett,
Connor Robinson,
Iyasu Richards, and
Chase Kosiba ran 1:32.22, the fourth-fastest time in program history. For Hackett and Robinson, they've now been members of four of the eight-fastest indoor relay teams in program history.
Elsewhere Saturday, first-year
Kane Perry threw 14.04 meters in the shot put on his third and final attempt of the day, and
Brandon Kiefer finished the heptathlon in fifth place (where he stood after four events Friday), taking 8
th in the 60-meter hurdles, third in the pole vault, and 6
th in the 1,000 meters on Saturday.
