Annville, Pa. – The No. 14 Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team scored the first seven goals of the game en route to a 16-4 win over Lebanon Valley on Saturday in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom action.
Stevens (9-4, 3-0 MACF) got hat tricks from
Stefanie Sellitto,
Alina Friz, and Adline Obitz, with Friz also handing out a game-high four assists.
How It Happened
Gracie Shea was the first to crack the scoresheet, converting just past two minutes gone in the opening period. Sellitto's first of the day made it 2-0 at the 8:00 mark and Friz made it 3-0 inside the final three minutes of a first quarter that featured 10 Lebanon Valley turnovers and no shots on goal.
Sellitto made it 4-0 early in the second, then
Colleen Ginsberg (on a free-position attempt) and
Alison Murray made it 6-6 with goals 30 seconds apart, with Friz tacking on a third goal in 45 seconds off the ensuing draw control. The Dutchmen became Stevens' first conference opponent to score on the Ducks this year in the final four minutes of the quarter, but Sellitto, Friz, Shea, and Obitz all scored in the final three minutes of the half, sending Stevens to the locker room with a 10-goal lead.
Sellitto and Obitz each tacked on two more each, growing the lead to 15-1 late in the third before the Dutchmen ended the period (and started the fourth) with three unanswered goals before Murray added the final tally of the game in the final four minutes.
