No. 9 Men's Lacrosse Wins Eighth Straight, 23-6, Over Kean

Hoboken, N.J. – The cold weather did little to stop another red-hot offensive effort from the No.9 Stevens Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team in a 23-6 win over Kean Tuesday night at DeBaun Athletic Complex.

Stevens (13-2) won its eighth straight game, scoring at least 20 goals for the fifth straight game, with 10 different players finding the back of the net, including a season-high seven from the newly crowned all-time program points leader Matthew Pergola.

How It Happened
Adam DeCristofaro and Chris Ciccarello scored the first two goals of the game in the opening 6+ minutes for the Ducks, with Jackson Penn and Pergola answering goals from the Cougars, with Stevens carrying a 4-2 lead to the second quarter.

The Ducks lit up the scoreboard in the second, scoring eight times on 11 shots on goal. Ill Labartino and Ciccarello scored within the first three minutes, putting the lead at 6-2. After nearly four scoreless minutes, Pergola scored twice two minutes apart, then after a goal apiece from Will Giarusso and Jackson Penn, added two more less than a minute apart, putting the Ducks up 12-2 at the half.

Penn notched the first two goals of the second half, with Kean finally breaking a long scoring drought shortly past the midway point of the quarter. Blake Creamer, Miles du bois, and Jack Tenaglia all added on late in the quarter, with Stevens carrying an 18-3 advantage to the fourth.

Pergola capped his big night with two more in the fourth, with Tenaglia, Ciccarello, and Kevin Burns all adding one of their own.
