Men's Tennis Conference Domination Continues With 4-0 MAC Freedom Championship Win Over Lebanon Valley

Edgewater, N.J.– The Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team continued its dominance of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom with a 4-0 victory over Lebanon Valley 4-0 Saturday in the conference tournament championship match on Saturday.

The Ducks (14-5) have now secured six straight MAC Freedom titles (2021–present) since joining the conference, after previously winning 10 consecutive Empire 8 championships from 2010 to 2019, with the 2020 postseason canceled in mid-March of that year.

Stevens won its 13th straight MAC Freedom tournament match dating back to the 2020-21 season and 48th straight MAC Freedom match (regular season and conference tournament) over that same time frame.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Renat Kramin and Dhaivik Chenemilla took the first doubles match of the day at No. 3, 6-1, with the No. 1 pair of Max-William Kanz and Samvid Andhare following suit with a 6-1 win of their own a few minutes later, claiming the opening point for the Ducks.

In singles, Tristan Wroe made it 2-0 Ducks with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6. Ian Batra matched Wroe with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3 shortly thereafter.

With the Ducks up one set in the four remaining matches, the battle for who'd secure the championship point was won by Kanz at No. 2, closing out his match, 6-0, 6-1.

Just behind Kanz was Kramin – ahead 6-0, 5-1 at No. 4 --, Chenemilla – ahead 6-2, 4-1 at No. 5 --, and Andhare – ahead 6-2, 1-2 at No. 1.

Kanz, for the second straight season, was named the Tournament's Most Valuable Player.
