Brunswick, Me. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team ran its winning streak to 13 in a row with a 14-13 win over Amherst on the campus of Bowdoin on Saturday in the Second Round of the 2026 NCAA Division III Championships.
Stevens (18-2) tied the program record initially set in 2019 for most consecutive wins and the program record set in both 2023 and 2024 for wins in a season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Ducks made a strong opening statement as
Adam DeCristofaro scored 30 seconds off the opening faceoff.
Jack Tenaglia and
Ryan Jack scored just over five minutes apart on either side of the midway mark of the first quarter, and
Hudson Rocheville answered a last-minute goal from the Mammoths with a last-second goal of his own, as the Ducks led 4-1 headed to the second quarter.
The teams combined for 10 goals in a wild second quarter that started with the Mammoths pulling to within two and ended with the Ducks up five.
Matthew Pergola opened the scoring before the Mammoths scored a pair 10 seconds apart. DeCristofaro,
Chris Ciccarello, and
Will Labartino responded with three in a row for Stevens. After the Mammoths again scored twice in quick succession, Pergola and Labartino had the final say of the second quarter, with each scoring to send Stevens to the locker room up 10-5.
DeCristofaro and Pergola (twice) notched the first three goals of the second half as the Ducks took a commanding 13-5 lead, but the Mammoths scored five in a row through the end of the third and extending more than six minutes into the fourth, slicing the Ducks' lead to 13-10.
Stevens briefly stemmed the run as DeCristofaro put the Ducks back up 14-10 with just under six minutes to play, a goal that held up as a critical insurance goal as the Mammoths' late run fell one goal short.
