HOLMDEL, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's cross-country team were the top college finisher Saturday in the season-opening Back to the Bowl Invitational at Holmdel Park, placing their top eight finishers among the Top 18 runners overall.
As a team, the Ducks scored 50 points, eight points back of Castle Point Racing (Stevens Alumni team) and 21 points clear of the D-I Wagner, who finished third. Stevens' scoring runners placed 6
th, 10
th, 12
th, 13
th, and 14
th, respectively, with eight more runners finishing in the Top 30.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Sophomore
Dylan Barrett shaved more than 30 seconds off his Back to the Bowl time from last season, finishing first among all Ducks and sixth overall in 16:58.6. senior
Ryan Paradine and junior
Kevin Medrow both knocked more than 10 seconds off their 2025 BTTB times, finishing 10
th in 17:05.9 (Paradine) and 12
th in 17:07 flat (Medrow). The duo led a pack that included first-year
Calvin Daou and junior
James Adamo, who rounded out the top five finishers for the Ducks, with Daou and Adamo each finishing less than a second back of Medrow.
First-year
William Hoyer was neck and neck with Adamo for the Ducks' fifth finisher, crossing 0.1 seconds after for 15
th overall. Sophomore
Ryan Shibles took 17
th in 17:14.4 and classmate
Markus Soennichsen was 18
th in 17:20.6, rounding out the top 20 Duck finishers.
