Stevenson, Md. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's cross-country team finished third among Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) teams and fifth overall on Friday at the MAC Preview Meet on Friday afternoon.

Stevens finished with 115 points, just two back of MAC member Arcadia and 24 points clear of new MAC member Marywood. Fellow conference member Messiah took the top spot with 27 points – the Falcons' five scoring runners were among the Top 10 MAC finishers; D-I member Mount St. Mary's took second with 62 points, and Eastern was third with 80.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Junior Isabella Gabay was the first Duck over the line for the second week in a row, crossing the line sixth overall (fifth among team-affiliated competitors) in 24:30, just 13 seconds off what would have been a second straight Top 5 finish.
 
Kate Cen, the fifth finisher for the Ducks last weekend, took 37^th overall (24^th among team-affiliated competitors), completing the 6K course in 27:44.3. Catherine Bondi was not far back, finishing 39^th overall (25^th among team-affiliated competitors) in 28:02.6. Allie Halverson was the 45^th finisher overall and 30^th affiliated, posting 28:36.8, just ahead of Sophia LaPenna, who was 46^th overall/31^st affiliated in 28:42.5, the final scoring runner for the Ducks.
 
Two other Ducks ran on Friday:

• Anya Sadowski ran 29:05.9, finishing 49^th (33^rd team-affiliated)
• Aisling McDermott ran 29:54.0, finishing 52^nd (35^th team-affiliated)

INSIDE THE MEET

• Like Cen, Bondi moved up three spots after crossing the line sixth for the Ducks last weekend
• The first-year LaPenna has scored for the Ducks in both meets this season
