HOLMDEL, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's cross-country team won the season-opening Back to the Bowl Invitational on Saturday, with their five scoring runners all finishing in the Top 11 and all 10 competitors finishing among the Top 25.
Stevens finished with 39 points, 12 points clear of D-I Wagner and 37 points clear of third-place Staten Island.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Junior
Isabella Gabay was the first Duck over the line, finishing second overall in 20:22.0, a new PR and less than four seconds back of the race winner. Senior
Kaitlyn Adams was eighth, crossing in 22:00.1 and junior
Anya Sadowski was 10
th in 22:34 flat.
Sophia LaPenna showed out in her first collegiate race, crossing in 22:44 flat for 11
th, less than a second ahead of senior
Kate Cen, who took 12
th, the final scorer for Stevens.
The rest of the 10 competing Ducks finished as follows: junior
Catherine Bondi took 16
th (23:10.3), first-year
Aisling McDermott finished 18
th (23:23.6), junior
Allie Halverson (23:58.8) and sophomore
Emily Laudman (24:21 flat) were 20th and 21
st, respectively, and sophomore
Caitlyn Adamchuk was 25
th in 25:06 flat
