Jim Brett is in his eighth season as an assistant coach with the Stevens Institute of Technology baseball program in 2009. His duties include working with all aspects of the team’s offensive drills as well as coaching the outfielders and catchers.

Prior to Stevens, Brett recorded a successful amateur career at The Peddie School in Hightstown, N.J. During his tenure there, Brett was named a first-team Prep A all-state pitcher and catcher. He was also selected as the Prep Player of the Year in his senior year.

Following his time at Peddie, Brett continued his career by playing for Fairfield University, which is a NCAA Division I program that competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. As a Stag, Brett was a versatile player and saw time at several positions. In his senior year, Brett was primarily a relief pitcher but he was an integral part of the most successful season in the program’s history – one in which Fairfield recorded 26 wins and advanced to the finals of the MAAC Tournament.

Brett, who holds a B.S. degree in Marketing from Fairfield, currently resides in Lincroft, N.J. with his wife, Heather.
