Justin Lutes

Justin Lutes graduated from fellow Empire 8 institution, St. John Fisher College, in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in sport management with a minor in communications.

Lutes worked in St. John Fisher's Sports Information Office as a student assistant from March 2007 to March 2008 and played baseball for the NCAA Division III Cardinals for four years as a relief pitcher. He was an all-Empire 8 Athletic Conference honoree in both 2007 and 2008, earning a first-team accolade in 2007. He was also a member of the 2008 Division III sportsmanship team and was the 2007 ECAC Upstate tournament Most Outstanding Player for his role in the Cardinals' championship which led them to the team’s first ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

In his four years at Fisher, the Cardinals compiled a 101-56-1 overall record and two ECAC Championship titles. Individually, Lutes ranks second all-time at Fisher in career appearances with 51 and is tied for second with seven career saves. He also holds the top spot in single-season saves (seven) and is second (19), tied for third (16) and tied for seventh (14) in single-season appearances. Lutes finished his career with a 7-3 overall record in 80 innings pitched.
