Coach Taps says: Rob has the potential to be a major addition to this year’s squad. Fully healthy, he is headed into the prime of his career. We expect him to be a key cog in our late-innings plan out of the bullpen.

2024 (FDU-Florham, D3): Started seven of eight games on the mound, totaling 20.2 innings pitched and 16 strikeouts.
 
2023 (FDU-Florham, D3): Appeared in 15 games, starting 4 on the mound … Collected 14 strikeouts over 25.1 innings … Recorded an E.R.A. of 6.75 and an 0-3 record.
 
High School: Played for coach Coach Mike Abate at Wayne Hills High School … Also competed in Track & Field … For travel ball he was a member of PS2 Academy, coached by Josh Bini.
 
Personal: Son of Robert and Katherine Hughes ... Father played football at University of Notre Dame ... Has a younger brother (Eddie) who plays lacrosse at Hartwick College ... Favorite movie is The Matrix ... Favorite MLB team and player are the New York Yankees and Gerrit Cole ... Chose Stevens because of the strong academics and prestigious athletic history in the sport of baseball.
 
Summer Collegiate Baseball & Training: Trains at Total Arm Care in Wharton, New Jersey. Will be competing for the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders of the highly competitive Northwoods League in summer 2026. Has also played in both the Hamptons Collegiate Summer League for the Sag Harbor Whalers (2024) as well as the Forest City Owls of the Coastal Plain League (2025).
