Matt Cannon

After completing a record-setting career in the net for Stevens, former two-time captain Matt Cannon begins his second season on the Ducks’ sideline in 2006.  The four-year starter led his squads to four consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament and four straight Knickerbocker Lacrosse Conference championships. In 2004 he earned honorable mention All-America honors after guiding the Ducks to a program record for wins in a season - 13-3 - and a berth in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament.

 

During his career, Cannon earned All-Knickerbocker first-team honors and All-ECAC first-team accolades twice each. He was also selected as the ECAC Metro Goalie of the Year in 2004 when he finished in the top-15 in the nation for both save percentage and goals-against average.

 

Cannon also rewrote the record books as he is ranked first in career goals-against average and second all-time in saves and save percentage at Stevens. In addition, he holds the Stevens single-season record for goals-against average and is ranked fifth in save percentage for a single season.

 

Cannon Earned his degree in civil engineering at Stevens and is currently pursuing his masters in construction management.
