Tyler Clarhaut will enter his third season as a member of the Stevens men's soccer staff in 2015.

"I am excited to welcome Tyler to the coaching staff,” head coach Devin Rensing said at the time of his hiring.  “With the departure of Zach Carr, he will have big shoes to fill but with his work ethic I am very confident in his ability to do so.  He will be working primarily with the goalies but will also assist in all aspects of the program, including recruiting and the day-to-day operations."

Clarhaut joined the staff straight out of college, having played two seasons each at Saint Francis College in Brooklyn, N.Y. and Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City, N.J.  He brings some coaching experience, as he served as the goalkeeper coach at the Strong Hold Soccer Club in Gladstone, N.J. and the head goalkeeper trainer at the Shawnee Soccer Camp in Medford, N.J.

A top 100 recruit coming into college, Clarhaut spent his freshman and sophomore years at Saint Peter’s, where he helped the team to a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title and was named to the All-MAAC Academic Team.  As a rookie, he was named to the College Soccer News Top 100 Freshmen to Keep an Eye On list.

After transferring to Saint Francis, Clarhaut immediately took the starting job, playing every minute of the 2011 season and posting a top-25 goals against average while making the All-Northeast Conference All-Academic Team.  He also played for the Brooklyn Knights of the USISL during his four years in college.

A former standout at soccer powerhouse Shawnee High School in Medford, N.J., Clarhaut helped his team to the 2006 New Jersey state championship with a 26-0-0 record and No. 2 national ranking in 2006.  He also played club ball for the Howell Strykers for four years, winning the New Jersey state championship in 2006 and reaching the Region I finals and national semifinals in 2007.  He also spent his middle school years in the Region I Olympic Development Program.

Clarhaut graduated Saint Francis with a bachelor of science degree in accounting.
