Annie McShea is in her fourth season at the helm as the head coach of the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s volleyball program. McShea took over the program in March of 2017 and enters the 2020-21 season with an overall record of 72-30 in two seasons with the Ducks.  

In her first three seasons as the head coach at Stevens, McShea has led the Ducks to two NCAA Tournament appearances. She led the Ducks to the MAC Freedom Tournament Title in 2019 as well as the Empire 8 Tournament Championship in 2017, the first since 2014. Additionally, the Ducks also won the 2017 and 2018 Empire 8 Regular Season Titles and the 2019 MAC Freedom Title. 

In the first three years of her career, McShea has helped Stevens produce a 23-0 record in regular season conference play.

NCAA Tournament Appearances

  • 2019: NCAA Regional Finalists
  • 2017: NCAA Regional Semifinalists
  • In 2019, Stevens knocked off Carnegie Mellon in the First Round and defeated Susquehanna in the Regional Semifinals to reach the Regional Final for the first time since 2016 before falling to eventual National Champion Johns Hopkins
  • In her first season on Castle Point, McShea led the program to the 2017 NCAA Championships 
  • She got her first NCAA Tournament win over US Merchant Marine before falling in the NCAA Regional Semifinals

Millikin Assistant Coach

  • The Big Blue went 28-12 overall and 7-1 in CCIW play 
  • Won the CCIW regular season and tournament championship 
  • Finished the year ranked No. 16 in the AVCA final poll 

Clarkson Assistant

  • The Golden Knights won back-to-back Liberty League regular season and postseason championships 
  • Reached the Elite Eight in each of McShea’s two seasons and finished both years ranked in the top-15 of the AVCA final poll 
  • Completed her Master of Business Adminstration in 2016 while on the coaching staff at Clarkson 

McDaniel Assistant

  • Served as a team captain in 2011 and 2012 
  • In 2012 All-Centennial Conference selection

  • After graduation, McShea spent one season at her alma mater as a volunteer assistant coach 
  • Graduated Magna Cum Laude from McDaniel in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Elementary Education
