Grinberg joined the Ducks after spending almost three years at Brooklyn Elite Volleyball as both an assistant and a head coach for multiple age levels. He helped facilitate the recruitment of 15 high school volleyball players to both the Division I and Division III level in just two years.

Grinberg attended Baruch College from 2017 to 2021 where he was a member of the men's volleyball team, as well as being a team captain. He helped lead the team to conference championship appearances in 2018 and 2019, with the latter year culminating in a conference championship win and a trip to the NCAA Tournament. As a setter, he totaled 1089 assists for his career while racking up 201 digs.

Grinberg earned his degree in Computer Information Systems with a concentration in Data Analytics from Baruch in 2021.
