FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Junior forward Josh Ottinger (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) scored two goals and assisted on another to lead Stevens Institute of Technology to a 9-0 win over Farmingdale State on Saturday in a Skyline Conference men’s soccer game.

With his five points, Ottinger became Stevens career points leader with 96 in just his third season.  He surpassed the mark of 92 set by Yankuba Njie from 1992-95.  Ottinger also moved past Njie (36) into second on the school’s career goals list with 37.  Giuseppe Incitti, who scored 38 goals from 2000 to 2002, is Stevens’ career leader in goals.

Stevens (6-1-2, 3-0 Skyline) won its fifth straight game.  Freshman Chris McGreevy (Rochester Hills, Mich./Adams) scored his first collegiate goal in the 12th minute to give Stevens the early lead.  Sophomore Brian Marks (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) scored the Ducks’ second goal in the 35th minute off an assist from sophomore Chris Barsky (Holland, Pa./Council Rock).  Despite 13 shots in the first half, Stevens held a slim 2-0 lead at halftime.

Stevens put the game away with five goals in a span of 11 minutes midway through the second half.  Ottinger achieved the scoring mark off an assist from John Quintanilla (Phoenix, Ariz./University) in the 59th minute.  He scored again two minutes later and then assisted on a goal by freshman Nick Gkionis (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) in the 64th minute to give the Ducks a 5-0 lead.  Senior Chris Morrow (New Milford, N.J./Bergen Catholic) found the net four minutes later.

Freshman Christian Pontier (Forked River, N.J./Lacey) scored the last three Stevens goals in a span of 13 minutes.  His diving header off an assist from junior C.J. Kirkos (Lyndhurst, N.J./St. Peter’s Prep) capped the scoring in the 83rd minute and put the Ducks ahead 9-0.

Senior Sean Stevenson (Scottsdale, Ariz./Brophy College Prep) and freshman Chris Celentano (Newton, N.J./Newton) combined for the shutout in the Stevens net.  Brett Southard made eight saves for Farmingdale (4-5, 2-1 Skyline).

Stevens returns to action on Wednesday, October 1, with a 4 p.m. Skyline Conference game against St. Joseph’s-Patchogue.
