Field Hockey drops 9-0 decision to Manhattanville

PURCHASE, N.Y.— Alissa Tyghter totaled three goals in the first half to lead Manhattanville past Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team 9-0 on Monday afternoon. With the loss, the first year Stevens’ program drops to 1-13, while Manhattanville improves to 13-3-0. 

The Valiants tallied their first two goals within 20 seconds of each other in the first half.  Tyghter increased Manhattanville’s lead to 4-0 with two more goals later in the half.  Manhattanville went on to score five more goals in the second half with Casey Chlominski adding a goal and an assist. 

Sophomore Katherine Freed (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) recorded four saves in the game.

The Ducks return to action Friday, October 29 when they host Moravian at 4 p.m.
