Women's Soccer Blanks Farmingdale to Advance to Skyline Finals

Megan Legendre tallied a goal and an assist in the Ducks' 6-0 win.

HOBOKEN, NJ (November 2, 2005) – Freshman Audra Clark (Dallas, TX) tallied two goals and one assist while leading the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s soccer team to a 6-0 victory over Farmingdale State University in a Skyline Conference Tournament semifinal game at DeBaun Field on Wednesday in Hoboken.  With the win, the top-seeded Ducks run their record to 17-2 on the year.  Stevens also advances to face third-seeded Manhattanville College, which defeated No. 2 seeded St. Joseph’s College-LI (1-0), in the Skyline championship game on Saturday.  Game-time is set for 1 p.m. at DeBaun Field and will be Senior Day for the Ducks.

Stevens controlled most of the action against Farmingdale and out-shot the Rams 43-1 in the contest.  The Ducks jumped on the board at the 9:36 mark when junior Siena York-Carr (Davis, CA) settled a loose ball in the box off a pass from freshman Meghan Tennyson (Folson, LA) and scored into an empty net.  Junior Megan Legendre (O’Fallon, IL) extended the Ducks’ lead to 2-0 when she scored off a high lob into the box from junior Heather Dean (Renton, WA) in the 22nd minute.

Junior Kiley Rode (Montgomery, NY) picked up her third goal of the year on a breakaway following a long lead pass from junior Cristina Fulgencio (Staten Island, NY) at 29:19.  Clark gave the Ducks a 4-0 with just under nine minutes remaining in the first half when she scored on a header off a corner kick by senior Lorrie Brabender (Newark, DE).

Clark added her second goal of the game on a header off a corner kick from freshman Alison Amos (Plano, TX) less than three minutes into the second half.  Fulgencio wrapped up the scoring for the Ducks with her fourth goal of the year as she scored on a rebound off an initial shot from Clark.

Junior Erica Midttveit (Jackson, NJ) and freshman Erica Mondadori (Secaucus, NJ) split time in net for the Ducks.  Neither goalkeeper made a save as the Rams managed just one shot in the game.Rams’ freshman Nicole Parker (West Babylon, NY) made 11 saves while playing the second half in relief of senior Pam Baione (Farmingdale, NY).
