Women's Fencing Finishes 3-0 at Stevens Invitational

HOBOKEN, N.J. - The Stevens Institute of Technology women's fencing team earned victories over Yeshiva 23-4, New Jersey Institute of Technology, 24-3, and Queens College, 25-2 in the Stevens Invitational held on Sunday afternoon.  With the win, the Ducks improve to 3-0 to open the season.  Stevens led the day with six athletes finishing undefeated.

In the foil,  juniors Colleen Kirk (Churchville, Pa.) and Rachel Cortez (Vauxhall, N.J.) recorded 8-0 records on the day, while Helen Kourlos (Astoria, N.Y.) finished the day 7-1.

In the sabre, junior Nicole Moldovan (Kinnelon, N.J.) earned a 7-0 record and senior Apryl Webb (East Orange, N.J.) finished with an 8-0 record.

In the epee, sophomore Emily Freier (Manalapan, N.J.) led the Ducks with a 9-0 record, while senior Judith Generoso (Elmhurst, NY) finished 8-0 on the day.

The Stevens women's fencing team is back in action on Sunday, December 4, when it competes in the NIWFA Christmas Invitational in Madison, N.J.  The tournament will begin at 8 a.m.
