JERSEY CITY, NJ – The sixth-ranked Stevens Institute of technology men’s soccer team played to a scoreless draw in double overtime against No. 18 Drew University Sunday afternoon in the final game of the New Jersey City/adidas Liberty Cup at Robert L. McNulty Memorial Soccer Field in Jersey City, NJ. Stevens moves to 0-1-2, while Drew is now 3-0-1 for the season.

Stevens controlled possession for the better part of the contest, holding a 16-6 edge in shots, including a 4-0 edge in the two overtime periods. Stevens held a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Freshman Jeremy Heiskanen (Hopatcong, NJ) led Stevens offensively with three shots, while senior Brian Marks (Yardley, PA) and sophomore Craig Moquin (Breinigsville, PA) each registered a shot on goal that was saved by the keeper.

Junior goalie Chris Celentano (Newton, NJ) registered one save for the Ducks, while his counterpart, Dan Biggers of Drew, had a pair of stops.

Action became spirited at times with four yellow cards issued to players from Drew.

Stevens has faced a pair of nationally-ranked opponents in its first three games of the 2005 season. The Ducks have now recorded ties in both games after playing No. 17 Arcadia to a scoreless draw in the season opener, Sept. 1.

The Ducks return to action Wednesday against the College of New Jersey in Trenton, NJ.
