NEWBURGH, NY – Junior Rachel Ostroff (North Miami, FL) registered a team-best 15 digs and junior Micki Biltz (Lakewood, OH) had two service aces and two kills to go along with 15 assists to lead the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Mount Saint Mary’s College Wednesday night in Skyline Conference action in Newburgh, NY. The Ducks won the first game, 30-15, the second game, 30-12, and the third game, 30-15, to improve their overall record to 10-2 and their conference mark to 3-0. The Blue Knights fall to 3-5 overall and 2-1 in league competition.
Freshman Melanie Volk (Thompson Station, TN) and sophomore Dawn Herring (Prince Frederick, MD) each contributed six kills for Stevens, while freshmen Amanda Petrocelli (Norwood, NJ) and Jess Gardner (Penfield, NY) added four apiece.
Gardner and fellow freshman Summer Hamilton (Davis, CA) dominated around the net with two blocks apiece. Hamilton also added three kills.
Junior Liz Livermont (Independence, CA) contributed five assists to go along with three service aces against the Blue Knights.
Wednesday’s match ended a five-match road trip for the Ducks, who return home to face Eastern Connecticut State University on Friday, Sept. 23, in Stevens’ Homecoming match at 7 p.m.
